All I asked was did anyone else use a larger washer . . .
FWIT . . . no stock pushrod tube ever leaked oil, never ever ever.

Now that I know about this valve shim mod I'm going to use it on my Scat tubes. Thanks. BTW the Scat tubes I have, use 3 internal o-rings and are good to clear .610 lift out of the box, something i had troubles doing with stock style tubes

I just removed a set of which 7 were leaking bad. The PO tried using silicone in the tubes to seal them. There were plugs of it going back and forth on the pushrods.
He obviously lost the instructions, if I had seen this sooner I might have tried to use them. lol. |

for what it is worth (and i know it will change nobodies mindset about it). i used windage type widemouth tubes when putting my engine back together some month ago. within weeks a couple started to leak (just a little, but they leaked). switched over to scat spring loaded at that point, have to admit main reason at the time was that i really was fed up with the idea to losen up the heads/ leave alone taking them off. so far so good - they work fine and no noticeable leak yet (daily driver, in for about 2mth). will they leak at some point? possibly yes. but i really don't get the spring loaded tube bashing in general.
cheers, L _________________ If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself. |
