A table saw with a blade for cutting non ferrous metals will do the trick. You can wax the blade too if you like. This will provide a nice clean cut. |
Sweet!

I would just drill new holes. The old holes get corroded over time and the original size screws will not grip. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Huh! I would have never thought of that!
Perhaps they are so close that we might lose all grip if I do that though. _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

If you see the extent holes in the rocker then yeah, problem. But if you shove the plate forward or back enough and don’t see any then I would use a small bit and make the pilot holes and then screw them down. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Asked Frank if he was interested in working on the front end stuff.
He said no. _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

Ha! Even funnier, I could hear him trying to be nice over the phone to somebody he couldn’t be his normal self too.
It was brutal for him.
He got off the phone and said ‘no’ to me as many ways as he could think of. _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

Have a question I have a 59 karmann ghia but the previous owner put on a late model front clip, and can not find any obvious welds. My question is by any chance is there a half year on the 59 the tail light are lowlights but not the front end all vins read 59 |

In my, albeit limited, experience, I have never seen a 59 Karmann Ghia without its characteristic low lights.
I have seen remarkably good welding though. _________________ 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

John Convertino graciously lent his talents on drums and vibraphone on a recording of a piece I wrote.

It’s actually my nephew, I posted the add in the ghia hunting topic. Hard to tell from such few pictures, but if it’s lived its life in New Mexico, then rust shouldn’t be too bad. Seems like a decent deal, for what complete running Ghia’s are going for now. |
