Hey guys. I’m in the process of restoring my 1966 standard. I disconnected the steering shaft rag joint and took off the horn center cap and ring. I left the wheel attached to the shaft. Than I started to pull the wheel and shaft from the tube and got it out but ball bearings fell all over the place. Now I’m trying to figure out what I need. Can anyone tell me exactly what I need here. I see so manny different pieces online and not sure what I need now. Thanks guys

You appear to have pulled the upper steering column bearing apart, the inner race is the metal collar stuck on the end of the column shaft. The remainder of the bearing (sans ball bearings) will still be found in the column tube. A replacement should be part number 113415585A. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

I think there’s a clip that hold the races together. If you find all of the balls and clean them and put new grease on them, you should be able to put it back together. I had this happen to me a few times. |

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox. |
