i have what i have been told is a 912E engine, type iv base, spark plugs look to be a different angle than "normal type iv", it has 3 bolt heads, and there are some extra brackets and stuff that looks like someone chopped off the fuel injection stuff, i can find all kinds of information on 912 VIN numbers, but nothing on the engine numbers, i just want to confirm what i got, guy told me it has hydraulic lifters (?) engine number is GC005928 - any ideas?

yeah, you are right, it is a 75-76 2.0 914 engine, which is great, i was told is was a 912, nope, not even close, turns out the exhaust is off a 75-78 bus, it is mint condition, evidently someone put the 914 in a bus,,, sounds like a good idea, anyone interested in buying it? i am pulling together a few parts to try to start it up.
