Opened up the front of the rear fenders for a peek and found a few more jobs to do.

Engine bay looks a bit better now with a tidy up and some repairs to the firewall where someone hacked away sheet metal to clear the heat exchangers when they were removing the engine at some point.

Some progress, metal work and paint finished, motor installed, new wiring loom
Meant I was able to get my makeshift eBay spray booth out of my shed and reclaim some room.
Made a start on the headliner.

Getting better at headliner installing and window replacement, but carpet kits are still just a couple of hours of glue sniffing.

Took it out for a quick road test, now back to some hard work getting the doors reassembled with new seals and felts.

They came from West Coast Classic.
I bought door cards also.
But at the moment I can't seem to find the door pull hardware for sale anywhere (yes.... Copellos did them in the past, but not now) so I have a temporary in place.

Fitted the chrome plated front and rear windshield trims, spent more time bending and twisting the pieces themselves, getting them into a nice fit.

The actual job took about 90 mins using a length of cord in the same way you rope in a window seal.

The quality of the old trims is far from perfect, but this car is not about perfect.

I understand that not everyone will get it🙂
For me, if I paint it it’s just another restored Ghia, I have restored cars, and they are fine, having them has probably made me value the remaining original finish on this 1950s car.

Bravo!!! It’s awesome, beautifully done. Can’t wait to get back down under, hopefully soon. Would be great to see your car in person.

Fair call.

I did, and gave it my best shot, but certainly welcome criticism. Cool
