Hi
On my 61Bug the king and link pins are pretty worn. I need to replace them. As for sources for parts, what is a good quality source?
I figure options include...
Buy just the pins and bushes and do the the instal of bushes and reaming myself.
Or....
buy a spindle already assembled with bushes and pins installed, perhaps on an exchange basis.
The second option would save me some time, which I like, and the cost of a reamer.
What vendors are recommended? What of parts quality?
Thanks!

Seems like there were several members rebuilding them awhile back but not seeing the ads much anymore. Hazetguy offered to do mine at one time but I found some already done. It sure if he is still offering the service. There’s a set of rebuilt ones in the classifieds right now for $200.
Personally I tried dealing with K1W once and was turned off by their poor customer service. Haven’t tried them since. _________________ 1960 Indigo Blue Ragtop (Blue Barry)

Based on his posts, pretty sure he's just looking for rebuilt stock spindles, not some overpriced dropped ones. If dropped is what you want, here is a set for considerably less money and hype. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1158176
No tapout tshirt and flat rimmed trucker hat needed. _________________ 1960 Indigo Blue Ragtop (Blue Barry)

The cost of the reamer tool is expensive for just a one time use. Of course you could resell it. Then there is the tool rental option.

WW sells German or Brazilian king and link pin kits.
Another option would be to buy the kits and have a machine shop do the reaming. But at that point your cost may be pretty close to buying rebuilt ones on an exchange basis. _________________ 1960 beetle
