I what to find the history of my beetle! I have owned the car 24 years (in the uk) but how to track more.
There used to be a place in Germany you could get a birth certificate. Does anyone know is the place excites?
I did have a certificate once (but lost it) my oval was shipped from Germany to America in September 1955. Any idea how to track it in America? I would love to find previous owners!
Where to start?
Any information welcome 🙏 |

Good luck, no one can really help you with it's long USA history. You'll have to search any past paperwork you have with the car for any clues. _________________ I'm looking for these license plate frames for my fleet:

Mission VW - San Fernando
Thornton VW - Stockton
Thanks for any help! |

If you had done this before GDPR arrived - you could have applied to the DVLA for all the history that they hold about your car - previous owners details, copies of the old log books etc.
Now after GDPR you only get a redacted copy - missing all of the interesting details...
Good luck finding out the USA history of your car! _________________ Jan 1968 1500cc - The family project! Celebrating 30 years off the road....
