Firstly, my hope is that the cops don’t waste their salaries chasing this down. Neatly, if you think it’s been faked then go back 500 some odd days and look at his online schedule. That might tell you if he was in Ohio at that time.

Based solely on a You Tube video posted by an obvious You Tube attention whore channel... I'm just sayin' that if this were my site... which it's not... I'd tend to be really cautious about allowing the man's rep to be damaged with posts about this to his feedback to damage his business, and I'd be really careful about assuming other things like tax evasion on a public forum because that seems to be brushing dangerously close to libel and/ or character assassination until there's more corroboration to this story.
I think a public rush to judgement here could be foolish. For all we know, this YouTube shit is edited... or even staged.

Anyway, not sure that #1 is reality anymore? I'm not a lawyer, but plenty of shoplifting videos, even ones released by police departments, don't have that info (or it's been cropped/edited out for public release). And who knows kind of info the actual store video computer has embedded for later viewing.
The "clerk", from what I gather from the news networks' stories and other online info about the real store in Medina, OH, is the son of the owner and works there a lot, and that the store is a family run business. So there is probably more of a personal interest in stopping thieves versus a hired clerk with no vested interest in doing that kind of thing. And it's really not that difficult to remember, even vaguely, a non-regular customer after a length of time.
Two videos, "506 days" apart, same person shoplifting. Not sure how you'd fake that. Perhaps there is some subversive plot where the owner of the store secretly hires Colin to stop by when he's in the area, they make a "fake" video, and then split the youtube bucks via paypal (or Colin gets paid in cheese sticks or ice cream sandwiches). Yeah, seems plausible. Not.
I don't think there needed to be "hours of research" because the first video was posted over a year ago.
Sorry, I don't see how the videos are faked or simple clickbait for youtube subscribers.
I think the real results and ultimate outcome to all of this is going to unfold in various forms on the IAC, not here.

-506 days from Sept 20, 2019 is May 2, 2018. I thought the guy said 509 days which would be April 30, 2018. Colin said April 24, 2018 he was in Ohio leaving for Atlanta with the BobD.

OMG!
Just now seeing this. Been working in St Marteen avoiding hurricanes. What a massive blow to the forum and general bay ownership in general. 
This is surreal that its that clear. The vid was sent to me yesterday as well but the download here in Dutch/French country sucks for me. I wasn't able to see it till this morning and I didn't recognise it as Colin.
This is fucking nuts. Just so fucking bizarre.

I just got home from two weeks of Mom duty in North Canton, Ohio which is about twenty minutes south- ish of Medina. My maternal grandparents lived in Medina in the 70s so I am familiar with it.
Columbus is roughly 2 hours south of Canton via I-71 or I-77. That's where he was on the 15th. After that he was due in Rochester NY today.
Medina is sort of out of the way on that drive, but not really by much. Wonder why he would go out of his way to visit the same convenience store/ gas station he was supposedly busted at before?

And sure it matters- just as much as why the hell he just stole more shit from the very store he got caught shoplifting at before, then sits reading the paper waiting for the confrontation to happen.

When myself and others who know Colin saw this video yesterday, we were all talking about this being staged, a joke or clearly we were hoping it was.
I'm not sure anyone would expose themselves to the abuse he's getting from posters on Youtube, not to mention slamming the door on his business model.
I'll go on record saying I hoped I'd learn this was a joke but sadly, it's clearly not.

But that's just it...we don't know.
Again, I'm not definitively saying this is bullshit, but I'm not saying that one video posted on YouTube is the final truth, either. (OK, two, but they almost seem to be part of a series) Look at the kids from Covington Catholic High School. Their lives got turned upside down by a video clip that wound up having a "the rest of the story" side to it.
We need to be sure, and sorry, we're not. Not at this point.
