Huh! I think it DID feature in that race— of all the cars that ran, it was the one chosen to draw in the crowds! What a coup for the Karmann Ghia!

It DID...check out the edit on my previous post. Smile

I didn’t even know that they attempted to race KGs! No doubt this is where the Okrasa and its like comes into play.

Do you know the story behind that great graphic?

I believe it was a poster to promote a regional SCCA event. Measuring 11' x 17", it is printed on heavy card stock. Most likely tacked up on telephone poles or displayed in store windows in the area. Printed by Globe Poster in Baltimore, I suspect the artwork is generic and not specific to that race. I have posters for other venues that show 356s, A-H 100/4, OSCA, etc. The format and colors are the same for all of them.

They certainly did...but we digress...

This '59 today belongs to a Sambanista, it ran a Judson Supercharger...and still does.:

Yep, the very same. Dustin is now the custodian of this little piece of KG history. Full Samba story here: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113641&highlight=
