Any vanagon experts in Or near Duluth? Power steering belt came off, now I have a wired rattle in engine compartment.

Best shop in town, FWIW: www.foreignaffairsofduluth.com / 218-722-2246

- Dave

PS: Very likely the loose belt banged up the exhaust heat shield...possibly harmless...??? <shrug>

Thanks all! Dave, heat shield seems solid.

At the time this all happened, we were using cruise control going 64 mph and began to go uphill. The cruise control bar became disengaged from the throttle body and I think the belt came off at that time also.

Engine stop ll has plenty of power, but there’s a noise coming from around the torque converter. Kind of a rattle mechanical noise. We ll take it to the shop Dave recommended when it opens.

I'll be interested to hear if Foreign Affairs helped you out.. it was my understanding they quit working on vanagons years ago..but they would be ok with replacing a belt.
