I have a '65 bug with Porsche 356 brakes on all four wheels. I'm pretty proficient at adjusting them. But, recently, when I first start out on a drive, when I first use the brakes, they sort of lock up (tire skids) and pull to the right. If I do a couple of firm stops, everything seems to loosen up and is much better from that point. The car sits for 4-5 days every week if that makes a difference.

What would cause these symptoms? I was thinking maybe it's the soft lines....they haven't been changed in 4-5 years. Thanks.

Brake fluid contaminated shoes.

ya wheel cylinder leaking somewhere. my guess also. seen it before. old soft lines get hardening of the arteries if real old. fluid goes in then won't return. causing the brakes to drag and not release all the way. not your symptom. your lines are not that old.
