It seems that VW made 1 arm fit both sides.... That is good news.
Bad News is they changed somewhere in 73, I guess. I have a 72.
Early Bay Jersey Looker says that arm, 211 955 409A started at vin 218 220 000, so 1968. But the Late Bay fiche has no part # and NLA
I see several classifieds for wiper arms, Also lots of websites marked out of stock. So how do I tell the difference?
The sellers don't put pix of both sides, so I am not positive as to what I need.
So do the silver arms in Pic 1 have an underside like pic 2 for my cap in pic 3?
TOP VIEW of the different arms
UNDERSIDE VIEW of what I guess I need. Because I have installed the seals and cone shaped cap pictured below

68 only arms had a pinch bolt/set screw type arrangement and won't easily work on 69 up buses.
you can use any arm from that point forward. the real difference is the earlier shouldered nut vs the M6 with the plastic cap. your 72 should have silver arms and the shouldered nut _________________

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |

Are you saying silver in general, or the silver ones in the picture? _________________ My Toys: '75 Porsche 914, '92 Ski Nautique and now a 1972 VW Transporter Deluxe (punch list fixing)

Yes, you need the silver style for a 72. The early 68 ones are very different, they don't have a hole or use a nut to secure them. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

As well, the ‘68 only wiper assembly is a bit more narrow than all the others. _________________ I Corinthians 4: 1 thru 5
