i am picking up a 59 and looking for some info i see there are 2 different blues for 59, i know its hard to tell from this crappy pic and lighting is always a factor but does this look like fjord or capri blue? also i would be looking for a hood and deck lid to match the car for a patina ride ( both hood and decklid are badly dented) how hard would it be to find this color parts at swaps?

also just so i know for piece of mind what i paid for this what is the value on a 59 in this condition, all orig very solid. will need floors and motor rebuilt. its a euro car w semaphores

i plan on putting pans in, new motor and just lowering it for a cool patina ride for now while im rebuilding my other car

I'm leaning toward Capri blue on your car. There are lots of both colors in the gallery- just type in "Capri blue", etc..

To my eyes, it looks like blue with a drop of yellow in it- thus Capri.
Also to my eyes, Fjord blue looks like blue with a drop of gray in it.

Value, depends on location. That's an $800-1000 car here in Boise.

Let the arguments begin...

yes, I'd agree that it's capri blue. can't you push most of the decklid dent out? as for value, I can't help you as I'm in the uk but if you feel happy with what you paid then that's ok. once you start buying bits and working on the car its value becomes somewhat abstract.

someone tried to beat the dent out with a hammer, im going to try and smooth it out but they really stretched out the metal.

It’s worth whatever you paid for it. With a non running engine, badly dented trunk, and rusty floors, I would agree with the $800-1500 range.

Not sure about the colour of blue. Like the patina, does the body have holes in it for the overrider supports. If no then it is a true Euro body. Looks like a nice project. Heck even leave the widow seals alone at they are more then likely originals.
