This is how I decide all my purchases - "This one isn't so bad".
Seriously though, I'd buy something used that is known to be good for the same money rather than buy something new that is junk.
Example: I just bought something for $250 that was $700+ new.
I am very happy with it so far even though I did have to watch some YouTube videos to learn how to clean and tweak a few things so it worked properly. _________________ How to Post Photos

A well accepted rule is that any aftermarket part for a VW that is made in China is absolute crap. I can’t imagine that a scooter made in China would be any better. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Does anyone know if a 125cc can push me around (280lbs)
Does added weight slow an internal combustion engine down? If so, how? |

You should be OK as long as you always travel downhill. |

At 280 pounds, you don't need a scooter. You need to walk. _________________ Oprn wrote: I'm getting to the age that any self propelled woman (no wheel chair or walker) looks HOT!! Oooo! look at that Babe! She made it from the dining room all the way to the TV room without help!! Hubba, hubba!! |

For whatever you are looking at I would make sure you do not exceed the maximum recommended weight. I don't know if I would risk it even if the max weight was 300.

It will slow the acceleration down. More weight = more power needed to move it and get it going. _________________ How to Post Photos

I'd be well under the maximum weight.
Still unsure as to how it slows down the engine
Does anyone know of a website that you can get directions from that will indicate the speed limits of the roads? |

...did you put on 30 more lbs?
It'll probs run, but wont be nearly as quick and the top speed will take a hit.
The Grom was designed to take a passenger, you're basically two people.

If the goal is to avoid fast roads just use Google Maps
Put in your destination, get directions, then click 'Options' and select 'Avoid highways' and/or check out the cycling route (cyclist icon up top). |

I don't have a license
Avoiding highways is that freeways?
Cause I want to go up the 101
Starting down here in national City up to northern San Diego
Should be a beautiful ride, if I can keep up with traffic. Not sure if the limit is 50, or 55. |

Buy your coffin and up your insurance policy before you go.
Or, better yet, check the law. Scooters under 150cc aren't allowed on freeways in CA. And over 150cc are considered motorcycles and require appropriate license certification.
This is definitely the best troll thread / combined troll threads on the samba for 2019. Oh, where are the Chummies when you need them. Ah, the good old days..... _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

you really need 250cc or more on a highway or freeway
There is no way you are riding a grom or clone or 125cc scooter on highway 101 _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |
