I just put in the 2 pieces forming my spare tire well on my 58 Bug. It is all welded in place except for the bottom. it almost looks like it doesn't get welded, but it must. So is the overlapping edge totally welded? Just a few spot welds? It has an additional piece in the middle a couple inches wide that the tire actually sits on that I removed from the old one But the rest of original one was so rotted that I couldn't tell how the 2 pieces get attached to each other. Thanks! |

I think it's just spot welded if it's the piece I think it is. _________________ '67 Beetle L41

I just did that job:
It is spot welded all the way around. I had to cut the panel in half to fit it into the space and then weld it back together.
