That's really cool, Marc! Makes perfect sense when you see if in place but I am pretty sure i wouldn't have come up with how to shape that on my own. I would love to learn how to work with metal (might come in handy popping divots out of bumpers, if you know what I mean! ) _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)

Thank you Moogie.
Well... I didn't come up with it on my own. I just followed what others here have demonstrated. This is such a great community.
This was a very small job and luckily doesn't require any special tools. Like so many things, it can look more complicated then
it actually is until someone shows you how it's done.
The welding though I will leave to more experienced hands since I don't have equipment and have no plans to get set up for welding. _________________ Marc

Thank you. I'm very happy with these tires, but more importantly, they will be much safer than the tires on the car which are so old that they predate the date codes required since 2000. _________________ Marc

It's really coming along! Who gets the honor of attaching everything back to the body? I am hoping it's a collaboration between you and Bill.. _________________ RIP HBB (1984-2009)

Thank you Moogie.
Yes, the doors, deck lid, and front trunk lid will all go back up to Bills and we will hang them together.
Bill doesn't have any space to store them safely while painting the body and after stripping all that paint
mechanically, you can imagine the dust all over the shop. So in the next few days Bill and I will be doing
a deep clean in preparation for spraying the body. _________________ Marc

Good looking tires---------and with their 130 mph speed rating, you probably won't exceed that very often. |

The car is almost ready to be brought back home. Today we installed the trunk lid, engine lid, and doors.
Still have some fine adjusting to do. Everything is now painted except for the small parts like the fuel lid
and license plate light housing. No rubber seals or door wedges in yet and the car looks odd because it's on Jack Stands.
The windshield will go in maybe tomorrow.

Thank you Jeff.
Um, . Nothing has been cleaned or prepped yet I've had my hands full trying to work full time, doing double duty as day care for my grand children as they are only in school 2 days a week, and also doing some outside subcontracting for an X employer. Not to mention going up to the body shop once or twice a week since June to help with bodywork and prepping for paint.
I've accumulated a lot of spares and plan to sort through to find the best of each part to clean and install.
This is the fun part that I've been looking forward to. _________________ Marc
