Since I am reading many of you are putting the vans away for hybernation, Crying or Very sad ,here is a clip from last weekend here in Utah.

Come visit the Red Rocks in the fall and winter. Less crowds and it is absolutely breathtaking! Keep camping brothers.

Enjoy....

Great video! I tried to do that same run in a rental cherokee. I had to turn back because at every possible turn around point there was a cruise america RV doing a 300 point u-turn.

Sweet! Beautiful vid, as per usual...thanks for producing & posting. Time kept me from
getting to that side of the river on my first trip, but it's top of my list for next time!

How much of that route would you say is passable by stock 2WD with good A/T tires...???

🤔🤔🤔

I drove my stock 2WD Weekender out there with a group of Syncros at Syncro Solstice a couple of years ago. I would not do it without stiffer springs and shocks than the originals. I have Van Cafe (Schwenk) springs and Koni Shocks with BFG 215 75 15 AT's, but other than that it's stock. It required some aggresive driving, but it can be done.

Of course, the conditions may (propbably) have changed in a couple of years.

Cool, thanks! I'm still running stock springs but with new HD Bilsteins & I travel pretty light
(Westy Weekender, no kitchen, minimalist gear...) so I may just give it a go... Cool

FWIW, I did manage a good run up to Bridal Canyon/Gemini Bridges & a few other fun spots
on my last trip out...had a blast & was quite impressed with the capabilities of this rig! Twisted Evil

Nice vid.

I really like your new larger 16" wheels & 235 tires vs your previous 215/75-15's.

With the new high top, it looks like a whole new [beefier] Syncro Cool

I really want a NAHT now.

It was a pretty big decision going from the pop-top to a high-top. You hear so many different concerns, suggestions, and DON'T DO IT, from many.

You can't park in a normal garage.
You can't have as much room in the upper bunk.
You can't drive in high winds or it will blow you all over the road.
Your fuel mileage will suffer.
It doesn't look as good as a pop-top.

You can have more inside storage.
You can insulate it better.
You have stand up head room all the time.
You can stealth camp easier.
It is much, much quieter than a pop-top tent.
Your gear is safer and locked up rather than on the top of a pop-top.

I have noticed that with the power-vent on top, I can ventilate the van better. I was worried it would be hot sleeping on the upper berth in the summer. But with my power-vent installed on the rear deck of the NAHT, you get a breeze of wind all along the upper berth.

The only downside is not being able to store kayaks or gear on the top. We have a Folbot twin ocean kayak and when we do take it, it stores easily.

I also opted not to install bulkheads. Surf boards are no problems storing above. I do believe small kayaks will also fit and possibly paddle boards.

For the way we use our van, the NAHT has been a great addition.

But to each their own. Yes, it changed the look of my van. I still love it.

Great videos and pictures!

I recently went to Moab in early October. We did the white rim road with two jeeps. It was a blast.

We were camping in Moab on the banks of the Colorado just last week. It was great weather for hiking at Arches and Dead Horse Canyon.

I replaced the shifter base in that campground too. Smile
