Hey all, happy Friday.
So I think the general consensus is the replacement ignition switches for around 20-30 bucks are not great quality. WCM sells one for 35 but I called and asked the parts guy who said there were no markings, etc. so I'm thinking it's the same. A while back, you guys suggested I look for NOS / OEM / or used - which I did - and found a few around. My superior hi-quality Chinese made switch is starting to go again, in that I have to turn it further with a bit more effort to get current to flow. Per your suggestions, I have cleaned all connections from starter to switch and back and it has lasted about a year, so far.
Here' the meat and potatoes - Are Meyle switches any good? For that matter, are they real and does Meyle even make switches? I found one for 68 bucks on Ebay - at least the pic says Meyle. I also found a NOS 111-905-865F switch for 98 bucks. It says "German" but I think that's it. Here and there I'm finding used "German" ones for 25-50 bucks.
so hoping you guys can point me to a decent source or perhaps I have already found them.
Thanks, happy weekend.

That must be my $98 switch you are talking about. It's NOS German. You won't find any better. You may find cheaper.
I put an aftermarket switch in a car once and it failed right away. I upgraded that car to a push button. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]
Classic Brands. Classic Quality.
Not all parts are made the same. NOS OE/OEM parts made mainly in West Germany, Early Germany, and Early Brazil are where VW produced the best quality parts and best fitting products.
