Hello everyone. I'm piecing together a 56 hardtop that came to me as a Baja. I'm getting ready to weld on the rear apron and I need to know the measurement from the back/bottom of the roof to the bottom of the deck latch. I have the dimensions from the rear crossmember to the two rear bumper holes, but need the third reference. Hopefully someone with a nice fitting deck lid can help me out. Thanks! |

Thanks finster. I ended up measuring between fender mounting bolts on both sides and I'm happy with the result....once I searched and found out that deck lid mounting brackets can be bent. A lot of variables in a bent 73 year old car
My new dilemma is whether the front cowl is bent. The apearantly perfect 1956 hood I got has a 3/4" gap in the middle. Cowl bent down from the rollover?? I could use a measurement from a straight line between the ends of the cowl at the quarter panels up to the edge of the cowl in the center. Not sure this is possible with the hood on. |
