I bought an engine.
This stud in mounted in there and I can’t get it out. I have my old engine and I’m going to just transfer parts onto the new [used) engine. If this stud stays in the engine, can I install the engine with this stud in place.
Should I just continue to rebuild? The engine supposedly runs, but this stud is stuck. Thoughts?

There were various length studs used over the years. The length needs to match with your transmission. The bottom two studs are installed before the engine and tranny are mated, so if yours is the correct length for your tranny it does not have to be removed. |

I would not want to attempt to install the engine without both lower studs. They help to align the engine to the bellhousing. Removing studs can be accomplished with double nutting and sometimes heating with acetalyne torches the area around the stud. _________________ ☮️ |
