In the rear corner of the rain gutter on my '78 there is a small slit. Is this supposed to be a drain? Or is this an area that needs attention before painting? _________________ 1978 Transporter 2.0 FI, BA6

close to the drain location, hard to be sure. but much smaller than factory. painted or filled in the past reduced the size.

Yes, there's a slit drain at the rear corners, just behind the intake ears. Need them or water in the channel would only be able to exit over the top of the channel or out the front. Yours looks short/small. Since you are painting, I'd probe it to open it up to its full size. _________________ 1977 Westfalia 2.0 FI Skills EJ25 w SubaruGears 5sp
