|
|
I have a 1964 beetle with a A. PIERBURG KG - neuß fuel pump. The pump works fine, but the gasket for the top lid and set screw has deteriorated and gas is seeping.
I have drained all the gas from the car and hope to rebuild the fuel pump as a winter project. Does anyone know where I can locate a rebuild kit for the pump? I've checked Wolfsburg West, Cip1, etc. with no luck. Of course I can replace with pump, but it has worked great, I like the look of it, and would love to keep it working.
This site has always been great and helped me many times. Thanks for your help!

I happen to have a spare WW Kit.
https://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=111198553
Likely I bought the last two.
dwig0618, If you don't want to wait for WW to get kits back in stock.
PM me and we can work out the details of getting a rebuild kit to you. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Grab a sheet of fuel proof gasket material and make new gaskets for the top cover and screw. You could even make new ones from a cereal box if you thoroughly coat them with gasket shellac before installation. _________________ 1960 Ragtop w/Semaphores "Inga" |

The WW kit mentioned above contains several parts that do not apply to your pump. Only WW can tell
you why they are in that kit.
There are excellent fuel screen/gasket kits for your pump available inexpensively from the vendor below,
they are shown about half-way down the page: http://www.type356a.com/services.html _________________ '67 bug: seized by the authorities
