Interesting dashboard. What kind of machine are you running there? Does it still have the autostick? _________________ "It's time you started treating people as individuals, rather than mathematically predictable members of an aggregate set, regardless of how well that works." |

Manual? I saw the ATF in the speedo and assumed it was for Automatic Transmission Fluid. Did you convert it, or is that a Ghia thing? _________________ "It's time you started treating people as individuals, rather than mathematically predictable members of an aggregate set, regardless of how well that works." |

I saw an accident yesterday driving.
really no one on the road, but someone managed to punch someone else into the guard rail.
I work swing shift, so there is usually very few cars on the road late at night.
My New Beetle was supposedly limited to 116, but I was above 120, playing with a GTI on the way home a few months ago.
I figured I'd hit the limiter before I got by him, and that he could smoke me anytime he felt like it. _________________ Good Luck

I believe all the later speedos have that. The automatics have a bulb in them wired up but the manuals don't have a bulb. |

220K, that's, what, about 136 mph?
I do believe that's a new record for this thread.

That's pretty much it. Not too shabby for a 35 year old bone stock $4500 beater eh? |

Yesterday evening. That damn light came on about 30 seconds before I took the pic.

Yea. I pulled over to make sure the belt was in play. It's still there.
I'll have a look at the electrical goodies today and see if I can figure out what the hell is going on. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Ok 67rustavenger, Xatie wanted to one up you in her stock bug and do 95mph but cars in front of her wouldn’t move over. It’s like they didn’t want to get passed by a bug. It’s still not top speed

You're the second person here to experience an alternator malfunction at speed. I'm beginning to get a little nervous about taking my own machine up to the top now.

Alternator speed is engine speed x2?
Fan must be cavitating at that high rpm. Too

And I5 in Washington state ain't the place. Fn left lane under speed limit assholes!
