So, I did not update here but I am enjoying the car with its new interior since a couple months !!
So back in history, my interior was really not fit anymore and I wanted something special that we would build ourselves. So first.. disassembly:
And time to blast and repaint the structure (and weld couple broken points..):
My door panels were also not so good anymore so..
Then it was time to chose my material:
And my wife started the hard work :
While I removed my headliner. I discovered rust under the back window seal so..repaired and repainted:
And then I changed the headliner :
Including the new outside cover:
And the interior was getting ready:
And... voilą !
I love so much this material in combination with the turkis:
Well, so not original but 100% ours, homemade by my wife and I, really love it ! And it makes me happy every time I open the door !
Bests

What a beautiful car, and such a nice job getting it to where it is. Congrats! _________________ .

anything you are doing at this body support, it will have an effect on the door parallelogram and door alignment! |

I don't mean this to be a criticism or sound like I'm nit-picking, because your Bug is really nice. But I just noticed that it's missing the body pad under the left shock tower, but on the right side, it's there. This makes me wonder if somebody had the body off at some point, and then either forgot to reinstall the pad, or found that the body was sort of twisted and assymetric, and just installed it that way intentionally.

Antoine, both of you have the same location (Stuttgart). You should meet and place both cars to each other to take pictures for us! |

Nice. That is, what I also still have to do. Have you marked the torsion bar setting and reused the same position? |

No changes yet on wheels color or step sides but the ragtop is currently getting some well needed maintenance..I noticed since a couple months that my spring plate bushings were really at the end (being probably still original) so it was time for a change :
And they for sure needed replacing :
I could not resist putting the beautiful CNC covers from CSP:
And mounted:
And we then noticed some more work :axle leaked oil inside the brakes, the plate holding the brakes was also damages, so time for a renewal:
And of course the axle boots started leaking so I am waiting on the parts, and we will also change them and change the gearbox oil.
I am very lucky doing it all with a friend (well, he is more doing it with me helping him ), good times working together and his eye for details made him improve a lot of things "while there"..the ragtop will be better than ever when back on the road!
