I've done a lot of tie rods and have no idea what you're talking about……

When you flip spindles on split window busses you have to run the Bay window later model tie rod ends. For this to happen you have to drill and ream out the end of the spindle for a certain taper. Just wondering what that taper was or what angle it is?

Thought I'd post here cause the tie rod end used is a 68 and up.

Ha! That makes complete sense. Brain fart.

I’ll measure a NOS one today and get back to you.

Common steering and suspension reamers are .750 per foot, about 3.5 deg. per side.

Thanks. So 7 degrees. I do see that that's pretty common, I also see 10 degrees, but maybe not quite as common. I also read about some 7.5 degree stuff out there (not particularly VW) but I'm thinking it's quite uncommon.
