I have attempted to install the hood emblem, but cant seem to get it to go in. I know I could drill out the holes a little, but dont want to do that really. I have placed the plastic caps on the emblem and then pushed it down onto the hood, but it just wont go. I even placed a piece of wood over it and tapped it causing a slight dent, which I had to spend time working out.
Of course I ruined the emblem because the little tits broke off.

Thanks

Try putting the plastic holders into the holes first, then press the emblem on.

Don’t know if your hood is original or not but I’ve found most of the aftermarket hoods have the holes in the right place but are often a touch undersize so I drill them slightly larger (but smaller than the grommets), nice easy push fit then and as as suggested pop the grommets in first

Thanks everyone. I ordered a new emblem today, so hopefully I can get it done this time.

Put the grommets in the body, then press the emblem on. That should work.
