Now the new gearbox and engin is in.
Still need to connect the hoses and cables etc.

I have it already!
I actually bought it from Oetinger and I was impressed that they still helped me with some of my questions.
I think it's fair to pay for the document when they still sell it for such an old car. Sadly they do not supply any parts any more.

I got it running today, it started nicely but there was a not that nice knocking sound so I have to figure that one out. I hope I do not have to disassemble the engine once again but if it has to be then I just have to do it. Might be that it is just something small but it left an nasty after taste for me to pounder as I have to do other stuff for a while now.
An other thing is that I relocated the relay box for the glow plugs etc. and now it is to low and hard to open so I have to move it slightly more.
The red can on the right is just as I'm filling the gearbox with oil. Other wise that's how I left it for now.

I do not know if that was all where the knocking came from but one of the pulleys was crocked and I fixed that one the knocking sound is not there now so I decided to put it togather and wonder about it if the sound reapear. Here some pictures of the progress.

This is now running and driving!
It has also passed the local Heritage inspection and is classed as museum Vehichle.

Maby I should get the whip and the hat as I already have three museum vehicles and I'm building on my forth. The others are not Veedubs except for the T1 that I building currently.

I doubt you'll find anything more official than actual BaT sale prices and GW's experience (which is based on their sales.)
If you select Vanagons on the BaT link you can see a scatter plot of prices. But I thought a list of actual Syncro prices would be more relevant.

Well yes it would be if I would sell a Westy Vanagon with awerage condition tahts not a collector restauration and in the US. Well I,"m selling a Ceravelle CL Oetinger IC syncro in Europe and I would first need to know the awerage preis diference between europe and US Then the price Difference between Oetinger IC and Non Oetinger IC then Between westy vs CL and obviously the condition categorys and what they represent.
So basically I appriciate those two data points but I need more data to be able to use them.I could get a specialist company do the evaluating, but for me to be in the ball park is good enought. I'm not yet there.
What's your opinion then What should it go for You have seen the pictures.
