Very clean and thorough work on your chassis and components. My favorite Beetle color, Anthracite.

Get your cat to sit on your chassis and get a good photo of it, then post it here- https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=529514&highlight=cats++vws

You asked near the beginning if you have original or aftermarket fenders. I do see differences...
Front: The driver's side fender has a slightly different contour along the bottom as it leaves the apron. Note the passenger side fender's bottom edge, how it is a nice continuous line away from the apron. The driver's fender bottom edge is slightly flatter/more horizontal than the slight upward rise of the apron. So I'd say the drivers fender is a repro. Another indicator would be to run your fingers along the inside lip of the fender towards the rear bottom of the wheel opening, just before the fender bends inward towards the rocker. Factory original fenders had a clean lip contour. Repros often had ripples in the metal.

For the rear, you have a noticeable difference in taillamp height. You can see this by comparing the height of the two lens screws (which would be horizontal) with the height of the outward kink of the fenders at the very top of the apron. The left fender's taillamp is about 1-2" lower than the right. Right taillamp appears to be slightly tilted to the right, since the two lens screws are not level.

Another indicator is how the bottom corner of the fender meets up with the bottom edge of the apron. Often, repro fenders extend down maybe 1/2" beyond the apron edge. Here, your left fender extends down, though this might be due to your loose fitting of the fender. Might be enough space in the fender bolt holes to push the fender upwards/forwards so that the bottom tip is flush with the apron. By contrast, the right fender bottom edge meets up nicely with the apron.
