|
|
I searched but my samba search fu is weak and I could not find what I know I have seen.
I need to run power from the X circuit (I believe this is powered when the ignition is 'on' but not during the starter engagement) and I'd like to use an unused spade on the back of the fuse block. I could swear I have seen this before.
Can anyone with the knowledge point me in the right direction? ('87 Westy)
TIA.
edited to correct reference to the X circuit vs the original post mentioning X1 for benefit of future searchers. _________________ Dave O

It's simply X circuit.
AKA, load reduction circuit.

Yes, in 86-91 vans male spades G1 and G3 come from the "X circuit" relay and only have power in the "run" position, not in start or off positions of the ignition switch.
These spades are often both already in use by options in a given van. The option harnesses usually have a extra pigtail wire hanging free so another option harness can still share the G1/G3 connection. Look for a hanging yellow/black wire with a male spade inside a yellow plastic shell. Plug into that to share G1/G3 circuit fused by fuse #12 (except some early 86 fuse #14).
There is another fairly easy place to connect to this "X circuit" in just about every van, protected by an existing fuse.
That is on the back of the rear window defogger switch, where a white/black wire feeds that switch from the "X relay".

Be careful how much more you are loading up on that puppy
Leave at least 20% space on that relay rating _________________ .ssS! |
