Your on the Right Track Roof with a Fuel Pump that has no more pressure than 3psi.. Eleviates the need for fuel pressure regulator.....

That is what I have done and seen with some peeps as well, so it does work that way, K.I.S.S., Keep it Simple Stupid... RB

You are the one that talked me into it!
I think k.i.s.s. Would be a mechanical? I’m not sure!

Yeah KISS is definitely a restored OG square top with the ethanol proof diaphragm. Never have to think about it, and it doesn't make a sound.

I machined that "hat" for the square top so it doesn't bend the ears over like they all do. I also used SpeedFlow 1/16NPT to 6mm barb fittings for the inlet/outlet so I don't have to worry about nipples falling out. Bomb proof.

That said, I have found Posi-Flo pumps with the rubber casing to be the most reliable in the Facet line, along with their top-of-the-line square body one. I have a gas Bobcat I use to destroy my property and work on machine tools, and I use it for the primer pump. It always cycles, primes my carb, and fires right up after sitting.

facet is a brand...

Vatozone and other local shops will sell a mr gasket label, or airtex label. likely all the same made in china pump that look and work exactly the same

I prefer a mechanical pump myself but you do need to test the PSI of any pump you buy, don't just ASSume its pumping out correctly for your application

Derale has a rotary pump that rated for 2-3.5lbs for fuel.

Hello, thank Facet is my brand for it ihas a Black Plastic Housing but not sure of the model. It has been a bit. Plus since it is under the gas tank, can't take a peak at it for you to get a photo or info.. Plus the car is not available, sucks, lol..

Try Jegs and Summit Racing just for fun... Hope it works out....

Oh, by the way, as for me running mechanical, I tried them all I think over a few years.. Replaced so many on the side of the street I gave up on them... RB

Forget the Facet pumps.

Perfect weber pump here. Super quiet and works great. 2.5psi.

Thats a Carter pump. I went ahead and purchased the one from Cb as well as a fuel pump block off plate.
I have a cb solid rocker shaft already and wanted to purchase the 1.25 rockers but it looks like they will be on backorder for months...
Do the AA brand rockers fit the Cb solid shafts? I would imagine yes?

Apparently the facet pumps fluctuate and do not pump a consistent flow. I’ve done some research and decided on the Carter. It’s just money right? $$$$
Hahaha!

The Derale looks really good also!! I’ve never heard of Derale though....it looks purdy

Time for weird. As for Facet Pumps, amazing how we change for the years. Hated Facet Pumps, to damn noisey, went to a few rotary pumps and a carter. Carter failed on a mountain country road, niced day so instead of calling a tow truck, pulled out my spare 10 year Old Factet Pump. It is 15 years later same pump and a swap meet bought a new one as my spare. As for the noise, ha, ripped out all the insulation, and headliner, nothing that can old moisture or suppress sound. Who needs a radio, can't hear it anyway.

As for K.I.S.S-- Had a had to find gas leak, it was a cracked plastic fuel filter and the damn pressure regulator with pressure gauge. Fixed them both-- smell gone. For a week, today take the bug out smells of gas and the bug stalls, freaking gas is pouring out from the hose between the steel tunnel line and regulator. Here is were KISS comes in, what the hell do I need the Regulator or gauge for, it uses a Facet pump!!! Ripping it out tomorrow.

Her is the Weird. 40 years ago, that same hose poured gas I drove into the parking lot of a funeral home-- Today the newest of the same hose, blew and I fixed it in a Funeral home parking lot.

With what we all going through lately , my wife said not a good omen.

Just to add to the confusion, Pierburg also makes a nice in-line electric pump for carbs.

My Faucet pump is 11 years old and still going strong. I mounted it on rubber and I cant even hear it run. Dont know why everyone says they're noisy

Simple - we don't use the rubber. BUT--

Now that I am ripping out the Pressure Regulator with pressure gauge, If my pump is not running I will not have a gauge to glance at. Have to pull a hose. The noise is my sound of conformance, ha.

I bought the fuel line kit from Airkewld so it has the gauge inline to see what pressure I’m getting.
