A friend of mine wants to have a 1950-1954 pre A engine.
I started with this engine a couple of months ago.

I show on my parts website which parts are used for VW and Porsche
http://parts.volkswouter.nl/tag/porsche356prea/

The funny thing is that Porsche this mentioned in there parts catalog.

Here i have the 546 crank laying in the two piece VW crankcase.
The camshaft is Porsche and doesn't fit the bearing bed.
I bought an Okrasa camhaft for this engine.

Mister Joe Ruiz aka Mr Okrase hooked us up with an set of carburetors and rebuilt these straight away.
They are true art and beauties to look at! Cool

AA pistons provided me a set of 80mm pistons and cilinders.
The sleeve of these cilinders is 88mm and the VW crankcase has an 80mm opening. Some metal work needs to be done here.

De poulie en carter gaan machinaal bewerkt / afgedraaid worden zodat er een moderne keerring gebruikt kan worden.
Deze ribbels zorgen voor de olie terugloop het carter in.

I have some parts for that engine. I have the crossover (equalizer) tube that goes between the manifolds and at least on rubber connector for same, the throttle rod that connects the carbs, a a fan shroud with the welded loops to hold the spark plug wire for sure. Pretty sure I have carbs. Probably other pieces that I’ve forgotten.

Nice pictures and good project!

Do you need an extra intake manifold? I have got a cheap one for sale.
