well i had 16's on my 67 and i have 4 inch narrowed beam, porsche drilled drums all around no adapters, fit fine in the back. but a buddy of mine did the same setup and he needed short axles in the back, since you have a superbeetle looks like your going to be screwed either way
here is my car with 16's
here is my buddies 58 with the same wheels

i was meaning because your car is a super, so you cant narrow the beam, and its IRS so you cant put short axles in it, thats what i ment
but hey, guys are putting 17's on supers so i wouldnt see why 16's would fit, just wouldnt be able to slam it to the ground _________________ Thornton |

I have a 72 Super with 15x6 fuchs in front w/195/60/15 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's disc brakes and am using 5/16 offset plates, in the rear i have 16x7 fuchs w/205/55/16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's no offset plates and I just trimmed off the end of the axles past the nut to fit the centercaps. Tread is all under the fenders with just a little sidewall going past the edge. Front is lowered about 1.5-2" and it has a nice agressive stance. Topline Parts sells some MaXX Struts that allow the use of wider wheels without using offset plates. _________________ In pursuit of superior handling!
