This is one of my next projects ... a while away ... a COUGAR BUGGY
Or I guess what it looked like in the 1990's.
Sorry about quality of pictures.
Rear wing is not part of design but was added by previous owner.
Last pic shows rear end, and my bonnet style. Bonnet attaches as separate piece.
My nose has flat ridge, that you can see slightly see, apparently later had sharper one, about size of a thumb (blue buggy), running down the middle.
Apparently mine won best in show in 1994, or 1995, at a VW Club WA show and shine, or DOTVW.
Owner was a member of the Volkswagen Club Western Australia (WA). (see sticker windscreen)
Apparently the engine was setup for NOS.
Had a thumping sound system.
I am finding very hard to find anything on this particular buggy. Anyone.?
Or
Indeed the History of the COUGAR buggies genuinely, who made them, ads etc.?
ANY HISTORY much appreciated.

Unfortunately, buggies and kits overseas are just harder to trace histories on. It looks like one of many clones of a Manx. I would maybe start asking the members of the Purvis Eureka club there in Oz as the guys who tend to have kit cars will tend to know people with buggies. And contact these guys http://www.clubvw.org.au/oldart004 if you haven't already. |

That red buggy with the safety fencing around the eng and foreign plates on the blue one makes me think Australia? I got nothing else though. |

I know of a guy with a Cougar buggy in Brisbane QLD, I think he has a build thread on instagram. Might be worth reaching out to him and see if he knows any history. |
