On my 68 912 the horn is very sensitive and wants to go off at any moment it feels like.. .so need to remove the circular horn button. What would be the right way to do this before I start breaking it?

I though it just needed to rotate counterclockwise and should come off... but sofar I had no luck with this?

the one I have looks like:

Push in and turn counter clockwise 1/4 turn and it will pop off. Make sure that when you reinstall that you have a good and soft horn boot, and you press down on the button as to compress the horn stalk or you will break it

Thanks! will give it another try since before it did not want to move (and I did not want to force and break it). might need some more force though...

Once removed I hope I can find the cause of that very sensitive horn? You think it can be that horn boot that could have gotten bit too hard over time? or any other item anyone can think of?

got is off:-) and found that the plastic of that little copper earth-part to be cracked... so guess that is the cause of the very sensitive horn activity!

time to order and replace!
