Spring plate bushings finally showed up so I finished up the drivers side suspension stop. Now I can finish up the rear suspension adjustment.

Got back into the garage finally, good thing it was only 100 deg. in the S.F.V. . . . UGH
Got the driver side bushings replaced snd let me tell ya, with that lower stop removable this job is a lot lot easier. Good for me because I gotta take it off again cause I miss calculated on my lowering numbers.
You can see that the spring plate now clears the swing arm and almost no tension on the torsion bars. A little wiggle help with a screwdriver was enough to pull it off.
One more thing is if you have access to 4 longer bolts for the spring plate retainer use em, an extra half inch long helped out refitting that to.

Now that I'm all legal with the S.B. I've been putting some miles on it. Now I notice an exhaust smell when waiting at stop lights.
heater boxes on but not hooked up and no interior panels yet.
Could this be the cause?? |

Look at the deck lid seal, and the seal under the engine hatch. Those are the 2 most common causes of exhaust smell. The 3rd common cause is not enough tail pipe sticking out from the apron (and into the air stream). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Thanks Bobnotch.
You may be right about the tailpipe, it is a little on the short side.
But for now windows down enjoying a Memorial day drive.

Now that I'm driving the SB I gotta start working on cutting down all the
shakes & rattles going on in this thing, with no interior other than seats n headliner it's pretty noisy in her.
Manage to trace down a loose fender bolt that was driving me nuts then a friend of mine gave me some office floor mats he was gonna throw out . . . BOOM instant floor mats.
Stuff is really cushy and with only the drivers side done I can already tell the difference.
They ain't nothing fancy but since this thing is on mega budget build it worked out perfectly.

Back on the shitbox today, thought I would take a shot at some DIY upholstery with an old moving blanket. I don't think it came out to bad and again the price was right . . ZERO!
Spilled a little blood today.

Agreed, looks good. Everyone forgets about those little spikes until they rip you open. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Finally got off my duff to install the passenger side rear bushings, of course I would pick the hottest day of the week.
Anyway I don't know if this is common practice already but I didn't want to get involved with removing fender bolts to get new inner bushing on so I just cut one side and slipped it over the torsion bar.
Figured once its back together it won't be going anywhere.
Also made a rear cargo matt to help keep things a little quieter.

The rear mat looks good. Nice job. |
Thanks Bobnotch.
From an earlier post about rear hatch seal, I noticed I am missing the smaller seal on the rear hatch.
You can see in the photo above . . LOL guess I need to order that.
Also I was wondering if anyone here has looked into these bamboo interior kits. They look pretty good to me.

Yup, you're missing the one that goes between the floor and the deck lid. I think ISP sells it, as does CIP, as I installed one last summer but can't remember where I got from. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Scored a pair of seats for the SB yesterday.
Out of a 79 Jag . . . for 50 bucks.
They line up pretty good with the slide rails. |
