Talked myself into changing out the shift rod bushing this afternoon, good thing too considering it was completely gone. So that was all the rattling I've been hearing . . LOL
The type 3 removable shifter plate was helpful but having the coupler under the SB made it a wash, still took an hour and a half.
Feels nice n tight now. Smile

Well I'm done fiddling around with adjusting the stock spring plates out back, had to admit defeat so went out to the Kaddie shack this morning and picked up some adjustable plates and bushings.
I only wanna do this one more time and be done with it . . LOL

Got the new spring plates installed, took 2 days to give my back n knees a break in between but other than that a pretty straight forward R&R
Set them at the same angle as the stock ones with almost all the adjustment to go lower from where it was.

I did use some cut studs to help line up the cover while bolting it back on.
Nothing fancy so not a lotta picks.

Well of course trying to look for late model rear brake lines is not gonna be as easy as I thought.
After doing a search I'm even more confused than when I started.

Anyone have the part numbers for the rubber brake lines handy??

HAHA . . yea I posted the picks this morning and finally got around to the build thread.
I've been slacking on the build lately so I ordered one rim from cip1 to check out how good or bad the fake Fuchs wheels are and to make sure they took ball seat lugs, which I already have.
( I didn't wanna have to ship back 4 if they were crap )
Honestly I think they look pretty good, I understand these are not top dollar fakes but for the price they are good enough for the square.

One note is that the cip1 ad is a little confusing as far as the fuchs go.
Some say they take 60 deg tappered lugs then when you go to recommended hardware it shows ball seat nuts . . WTF??
I brought it to their attention so that maybe they can fix the issue.

Well decided to get the other 3 fake fuchs for the squareback but before I get started on the deal I need to finally get the hand brake cables in order, one of them was pretty badly frayed and I dont like having a sketchy emergency brake.
No major issues other than having to cut the rest of the bad one to get it out.

Next it'll be time to drill and stud the drums and rotors for the 5x130 pattern.
I went with 4.5s front and back.

Got on the drill press this afternoon.
Used a 4 to 5 wheel adapter for a jig to drill out a rotor along with some drill bushings and other tools I had available.

Drilled n studded one of the rear drum n hub today, ran into a little problem when opening up the holes for the studs.
I forgot to take into account that the hole that breaks into the threaded hole for the cap screw that holds the drum to the hub.
When I opened it up it wandered into that threaded hole and that stud was all outta line . . UGH Embarassed must be getting old or something or just in to much of a hurry, fortunately it was undersize enough that I could massage it with a die grinder on one side to get it back in line.
I'll us a stubby drill and clamp the drum on the drill press for the other side, that should keep it straight.
Another thing I didn't think about is that the torque Meister to is for the old 4x130 pattern so I had to get creative when putting the nut on.
Oh well live n learn.
Other than that it went smooth.
