I like the detailed Fuchs wheels, but the car needs primer or Hot Rod Flatz paint. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Thanks Fisher.
I'm really not a big fan of the primer look anymore but I get it.
I dont plan on doing bodywork anytime soon so the paint is what it is. |

Took a little time for some paint removal after it cooled off a bit, figure if I can do about an hour each day it won't be so bad.
Just water & a Scotchbrigh pad.
I'll get all this ugly green house paint off eventually. |

atleast being down in Socal you have decent weather all year so you can work on it almost every day if you wanted.
one of the very FEW things i miss about being in Palmdale, the weather cooperated 363 days of the year _________________ Schnell, SCHNELL!

Have you tried acetone on a rag and drape over the house paint to soften it up? _________________ "Albatross"! |

I had suggested some EZ off oven cleaner, as that should remove the house paint. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I'll probably have to try both of those out cause getting into the louvers isn't gonna work with my method.
Thanks guys.
Once I brake through the top crust with sandpaper the water with the Scotch brite pads actually works pretty good.
I'm really trying to stay away from chemicals as much as possible. |

Had the same thing with my bus couple of months ago, i used an angle grinder wire cup brush, that removed the most but was also a bit aggressive because it went through the original paint here and there, but then again, it had filler all over the place so didn't mind..

Brakes on the SB have been kinda spongy for a while so I figured I'll start with new braided hose to replace the rubber ones.
Did all for corners but only took a few pics out front. Those rear lines are a bummer to get on and off, spilled a little blood in the process.
Also took some of the slack on the pedal and thats when I noticed the burned out fuse . . . The brakes are awesome now but now I have no brake lights . . UGH!
Don't know how long I was driving around without them working.
Put a new fuse and it blew right out. Blinkers and running lights still work fine, any ideas where I should start to fix the brake light issue.

Tried another fuse again, with the key on and hitting the brake pedal everything was cool, then I started the car and watched the fuse pop right after.
WTF????? |

Maybe wire insulation gone bad?
Best is to go through this step by step
See wiring diagram below, maybe you could start by disconnecting the wire from the brake switch that goes to the brake lamps, if it pops, problem's in that wire or further down the line, if it stays, problem is not in that wire etc...
brake switch is J3 near the middele top

Rigged up this little gig so I can use these fuses that I don't need.
Then disconnected the wires in the trunk under the brake fluid thing.
Still no go.
Then After a closer look at the wiring diagram I saw that the horn was also connected to that fuse, I was fooling around with that the other day then the light over my my head lit up. BINGO!
Horn wire was grounding out. Taped it up and all is good. . . Thanks for the help guys. |

After getting the brake light issue figured out I was in a good mood so decided to give my little pig her front blinkers back, they are big and and ugly but so is she . . . LOL
lucky for me all the parts came with the car, a little beat but they still work.
