Years ago someone told me to put a layer of white lithium grease on these gaskets before installing them.
Opinions?
Does anyone else do this or do you install them dry? _________________ 1957 Vintage Baja Bug.

I use anti seize. I apply a thin coat, rub it in and wipe off the excess.
It prevent the gasket from sticking the head. _________________ Glenn

Interesting. I'll give that a try.
Thanks. _________________ 1957 Vintage Baja Bug.

I was told to use grease to puff them up a bit. I've also tried Hylomar EAP5 – Exhaust Assembly Paste. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

I like the way they stick to the head. |

I use axle grease as that always seems to be around. It seems to keep them from getting brittle and cracking as soon.
It does also help them from sticking so they are easier to remove when you are so inclined. _________________ 1957 Oval rag
