|
Hi Folks
Now that I have my fuel tank out - the obvious next step is the check the health of the central shift linkage bushing.
I was expecting to find something horrific - but what I see does not look really so bad.
What do you guys think - ??? Should I replace this? How can I know if it is "gone" or not?
Thanks

Looks fine to me. If you can grab the shift linkage and rattle it around in any direction it needs a replacement. But that bushing doesn't look like it has any gaps/play.
When I bought my van the bushings looked like they had been fired at a steel plate and had mushroomed open. 1" of play in all directions. _________________ '87 Syncro

Mine was simply gone! Not even a small trace of plastic remained. |

Yeah that bush on my Czech van was totally fried.
So I guess with this one I will just lube it up a bit and leave it alone - WOW, I got lucky on this one cuz those bushings are impossible to find > last time I had to make my own. _________________ www.edwardpowell.com |
