that i did. it kicks much ass. it was a bit nerveracking driving a panel at first, but once i got the mirrors adjusted just right it was like butta. i have to do a tune up tommorrow, the carbs need a bit of adjustment, but it made a five hour trip from charlotte to my home town in NC without incident. now if anyone has two happich mirrors they want to get rid of, PM me. i want something a bit bigger than the little round mirrors, and it has really nice OG harp arms on it. once i get a rack and a set of bice bumpers on it, it will be perfect. |

you are right, they are quite expensive. i would rather have used ones anyway. since the rest of my bus looks quite well used, to say the least, i couldnt bring myself to install some NOS mirrors, or probably NOS anything. if you have a set of used ones, even if they are rough, i will buy em though. |

if you want to pay too much money for my used ones, I would just put the NOS ones on my bus. I sure don't have any problems installing NOS parts. LOL _________________ .

hahahaha! if i was going to do a completely perfect concours restoration on a bus, i would be all about the NOS parts. as it stands though, i would rather find an old beat up set that would look more like they had been on the bus since back in the day. that, and the round mirrors are just too small for me. i am half tempted to pick up a cheap set of elephant ear repros until i can find a couple of more reasonably priced happich mirrors. |

go to lots of swap meets. I find one every couple years and they are never very expensive. I don't think that elephant ears will fit onto harp arms. _________________ .

they wont, without modification. i would take the harp arms off until i found matching mirrors, and just roll with the elephant ears. |

Congrats Wharfie! That is one gorgeous bus!! I remember seeing pics when it was first dragged out years ago. I think it was at the 2000 OCTO event.

Elephants rock dude. I couldnt go without them. I am not sure how the quality of the new ones are but they are better than the small ones any day. Just keep an eye out in teh swap meets for some old ones.
I expect to see you at the Tocoaa Ga show in that thing.
Congrats. _________________ -Bryan

Right on Wharfrat...it looks like patience DOES pay off. Congrats on the panel, and glad to hear the drive home went smooth.
