I think that's Trevor's.
Some previous owner tried to "improve" the truck by sanding off much of the logos.
It had white polka dots all over with grocery store signwriting.
It's still a fine bus, but Damn! I wish it was left alone. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

I love that buses put smiles on people's faces. So many people smile, wave, flash the peace sign, or tell you stories while you are filling up on gas. Its even better when the person smiling is a fellow bus enthusiast. _________________ .

Well that was three years ago, but, hey, I turned 60 the very month that photo was taken also!
So, cheers to you from a 63.5 year old cohort, Linda.

Excellent picture Shoyrtt now that's what I'm taking about! I would like to keep people posting and commenting about "Bus Cheer" to keep people smiling and make our days ahead as joyful as possible. I don't care how old the photos are now that I'm 63.5 just like you my NJ brother j.pickens, just post you or others with a bus and happy. We will get through this, a vaccine will be created and we will survive. Stay healthy stay strong everyone.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Here I am, happy to have made the highest pass on the I5 in NorCal.
Driving the Baja Barndoor.
And here I am with the guy who cut the truck's wheel wells back in 1976:

Okay, I'll play!
Me diggin' the day last summer driving a famous 1965 Single Cab ladder truck with the Rhine River in the background. BBT Bob lets me drive the Ladder truck many times and he assigned her to me for the BBT Convoy five hour drive from Antwerp, BE over to the Bad Camberg Vintage Meet last June. Done it often enough that I even set up and break down the extension ladder! Always fun, always a good time, always makes me smile ear to ear!

In my sanctuary. Another 63.5 year old. In a few weeks, I’ll have had her for 14 years.

An oldie but one of my favorites. This is a 19 year old me with my first split Bus, a '67 13-window. It was the night that I got it together and started it up for the first time in 21 years. I was a happy guy there. I had many detractors when I bought that Bus and said I was going to get it on the road from my parents to people on this very forum. It felt great to see it fire up and move under its own power.

This June will be 30 years together. Bought my 67 in 90 about two weeks after I graduated HS in Coeur d'Alene, Id.
Then
and now...
hasn't been all smiles, but there sure have been a lot of them. People's faces just light up when you drive by with the safaris wide open. _________________ '67 13 Window

I have to add another. Last year, a few weeks before the VW show in Chattanooga, TN I told my grandmother she should ride up with me and I'd drop her at her sister's house just outside of Chattanooga. She'd been sort of down in the dumps. I was surprised when she took me up on the offer and I was a little worried she wouldn't like the rough ride and lack of a/c. All she said was "I was riding in cars with no a/c before even your mama was born
She loved it. We drove mostly back roads and sang along to '60's and '70's music. Hopefully the Chattanooga show will just be postponed this year rather than cancelled because she was looking forward to it again.
