Anyone know what this is ? I found it in a bag of bits from my car, and normally I label / photograph assiduously, but this one seems to have escaped me !!
Clever little jigger, with two tiny springs inside, but now all a bit corroded and worn out. So I am hoping it is not an important part of my car !!
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
G

It’s part of the ignition switch. _________________ 70 fastback automatic 06 invader |

Interesting. About the only thing I haven't taken apart is my ignition system !! Steering, horn, indicator switch, all worked on and rebuilt. Ignition switch not touched because it was one of the few things that was working.
Maybe it came from a spare column which I have.........
Will dig deeper, but thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Yup, the electrical half, minus the guts. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

I feel slightly relieved ! Was going through all my photos of before I pulled her apart, looking at how some of the engine parts go back together, and I spotted the "part of the ignition switch" sitting in the floor after I removed the battery. The rust in this area clarifies why the ignition part was so rusty before I cleaned it up. It had obviously got wedged there behind the battery and been sitting in the rusty water. There it is, in the middle on the right !!
Now I know why it wasn't tagged - It was just something I found on the floor that the PO had left there !!
Problem solved
