I have a 70' STD bug slammed, and its bottoming out on the bump stop. i Currently have no knob on it, so its metal on metal during most road bumps. Would cutting off the bracket from the arm allow for more travel? i want to keep at its current height. I also have shorter shocks already and adjustable spring plates. If anyone has cut there's off let me know how it rides. |

I just recently raised mine got tired of the exhaust dragging.
Actually the spring plates on mine were bottomed out on the top of the shock towers and there are no bump stops. _________________ '72 Beetle |

Doesn't a '70 beetle have the bump stops on the shock absorbers? Am I missing something? I thought all ball-joint front ends did it with the shock absorber... |

its currently almost metal on metal as I'm maxed out on spline adjustment to get as low as i can, was just wondering if getting rid of the whole bump stop would help? |
