Hello to everyone, I wanted to show my project.

It's been 7 years in the making. But I've been surfing a lot on TheSamba.com that I thought I share it with you all.

It's a 1956 beetle that I discovered in a barn. It stood there for more than 30 years.
To get the beetle out of the garage, there were trees that had to be removed!!!

There was a lot of welding work to be done, and the front of the car had been damaged in an accident...

New floorpans, heather channels, front valances, ... to much...

I build a 1776cc type 1 engine for it. It's got an Engle W110 and 40 carbs.

I'm now in the fase of putting everything together.
Still some work to do, but hopefully within a few months it's ready.

Greetings from Belgium.

Hey, is your title supposed to say “My 56 oval”. Just making sure. You can still change the title by clicking “edit” on your first post.

I love me a grey car, can you tell me the color? Is it VW specifically? Maybe a nice maroon interior.?

It's RAL 7004 grey. But it is applied after the welding works were done.
I skipped the full respray route, because for me this is more fun.
The body is not prepped, there is no bondo on it.

I wanted to replace the old original interior. Its still in great condition.

You are right --> the title is in Dutch.

I was looking at the weber windows. Did you fabricate them yourself? Or did you buy them somewhere?

Thanks for the nice comments.

The acces windows are from Hooky's Panel Shop.
They are excellent quality and fit perfect.
