Swapping out my fan switch as it went closed circuit when cold.

Fans come on with battery connected.

You need a a 29 mm deep socket to get this puppy off, buried on the lower left radiator, facing backwards.

I came down from the top after removing battery and tray.

I didn't have a 29 mm deep , so I used a Big vice grip on the flanges, and a small vice grip to break the brass threads loose out of the plastic radiator - easy.

It then spins off by hand.

Thanks, it certainly would. Threads are brass in a brass insert bit torque is low, -35 Nm I think

My new switch came with a thin crush washer of copper , with an open cross section, which I did not use , since it wasn’t on the original.

I put a small dab of permatex on the sealing face.
