Sure. Why not if there's room for the two cooking vessels? _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

Breakfast is usually a 1 burner meal and dinners are typically a 2 burner meal. |

Is the OP having a problem with this? Obviously wouldn't be much point in having 2 burners if you could only use one at a time. |

I often use both burners and I have an outside grill going as well.
I mean, the whole point is to cook anywhere, anytime, right? Ferraris can't fry eggs.

I'm planning out a custom kitchen cabinet unit for my tintop and I'm deciding if I actually need 2 burners.

Great Love a poll
When I had 2 burners I used them both at the same time quite often. One to cook and the other to boil water in most cases. Im here in the desert and love a good wet heat. I would boil water to heat the van in the mornings. Of course the water was often used in the 4 cups of coffee I drink every morning or to produce a nice warm wet rag to " bathe" with but many times just for the steamy heat.
I would like to mention that i now have a weekender w no stove and the stove is missed dearly. Keep the fridge and the mini sink. I miss that stove something fierce. My Coleman rig is nowhere near as convenient or useful.
Shit you see that pic Kourt posted? I think he might actually be staying at hotels. _________________ Support Small Business.

That depends on your cooking. I absolutely love having two burners. I dont always need two but I'd definitely regret not having two.
My pal just bought a $120K Sprinter Revel and I was shocked to see that it only had one burner. Granted, it's a freakin induction burner but still only one. _________________ - Jim

Just used both simultaneously today. Made mac n cheese for the kiddos and reheated chili for us after a good long hike hunting antler sheds. In any ordinary camping expedition we use two burners if needed. But we usually try to cook outside when possible. I always say camping is 75% about the food. |

Yes, of course. How else would I simultaneously serve two personal pan pizzas? _________________ Camp Westfalia

I use my van for highpointing trips--visiting the high points of all 50 states.
These trips are usually made with two or three other guys. We use the van as a mobile basecamp to keep costs down and be efficient with our time, and to eat a quality of food we can control.
The morning routine for this group is to heat a small kettle of water on one burner and a small steel saucepan of water on the other burner. The kettle water is used for coffee and oatmeal. The saucepan water is used for quick baths and washing dishes. That's the reality of my two burner stove use.
...but my favorite use of the two burners is with the Lodge Double Play Reversible Grill/Griddle. This thing fits perfectly across both burners and is the perfect cooking surface for big breakfasts, lots of grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, and many other things. Here's an image of the griddle in action:
I keep it stored in a canvas bag under the bench seat.
(Griddle image taken from my Austin to Key West video--which has lots of food prep cameos, if you're interested.)
