The 48ida rebuild kit I just received from Pierce Manifolds in Gilroy, CA has a new brass float in it.

IDA's are inherently Alcohol friendly.
Brass floats are part of that...

from the eurocarb link, it shows the float is not brass.

maybe the material is not plastic but it black and light. will drop eurocarb an email

I put plastic floats in my IDA's after chasing an issue for ages with a needle valve being overcome that eventually turned out to be a pinhole in the brazed seam of one of the brass floats. No problems with the plastic items so far and dimension wise, they were spot on.
