Ku'u Home O Kahalu'u
Performed at the coolest pool party ever by Ke Kani Nahe
Link
Mahalo!
I remember days when we were younger
We used to catch o'opu in the mountain stream
'Round the Ko'olau hills we'd ride on horseback
So long ago it seems it was a dream
Last night I dreamt I was returning and my heart called out to you
But I fear you won't be like I left you....Me ke aloha Ku'u Home o 'Kahalu'u
I remember days when we were wiser
When our world was small enough for dreams
And you have lingered there my sister and I no longer can it seems
Last night I dreamt I was returning and my heart called out to you
But I fear I am not as I left you.........Me ke aloha Ku'u Home O' Kahalu'u
Change is a strange thing it can not be denied
It can help you find yourself or make you lose your pride
Move with it slowly as on the road you go
Please do not hold on to me, we all must go alone............
I remember days when we were smiling
When we laughed and sang the whole night long
And I will greet you as I find you
With the sharing of a brand new song
Last night I dreamt I was returning and my heart called out to you
To please accept me as you find me..........
Me ke aloha Ku'u Home O' Kahalu'u
Me ke aloha Ku'u Home O' Kahalu'u
Me ke aloha Ku'u Home O' Kahalu'u

Noʻu ka hauʻoli!
I know a lot of Hawaiian artists and songs, but somehow I didn't hear of this one until a couple of years ago on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui, at Mick Fleetwood's restaurant. The duo of guitarist/vocalist Eric Gilliom and Vince Esquire (incredible ukulele and blues master) played this right in front of us, and it was so moving, I looked it up when we got back to the mainland and found many covers of Jerry Santos' composition, as well as the original you posted.
A few notes and I feel my feet in the warm sand and my blood pressure drops 10 points.

I sat on my back porch and listened to this with my eyes closed. Very relaxing...felt like my whole self turned to jello.

Thanks, Xevin. Some of my favorite artists... all great no matter what they do.
Speaking of Brothers Cazimero... a great song, I love all three vibes melded in series... so peaceful, and yet so sad, too. If any song takes me to a warm sunset, this one does!

Thanks for this link. This is not normally the type of music I listen to but this is beautiful music. I've listened to it several times every day and I forget everything else that's going on. These guys are very talented musicians. _________________ Marc
