Could someone please tell me how this is attached to the roof, or point me to a install thread. It’s a sunroof conversion as the roof was in pretty bad shape when I got the bus. Thank you

did your bus have a cloth headliner before? Kombis with hardboard panels do not have provisions for a cloth headliner

Hi
yes it had a cloth headliner beforehand, I have put in the new metal behind the sunroof opening, and the holes all match up. Just don't know how they connect to each other.

In my 66 the headliner was attached using the same clips (chrome head) as used on the cab doors. It's in the shed , I'll try and get some photos. The stiffening material was cardboard, which tended to loose shape over time.

Yeah you attach that strip up to the overhead then pull it rearward to the over-the-rear-hatch slot strip. On both very ends of the domelight area strip is a screw and finish washer holding the strip to the inside drip gutter. You should have one lofting bow near the rear that goes in and up before the rear strip.

Here's a picture of the side end screw how it attaches. This is on a Standard Sunroof. I don't know if 21 and 23 Windows have it like this.

In this guy's photo of a '65 21 Window there is the plastic beading holding the rear overhead at the side.
