I've always wondered what those numbers were

Left side of the rear hatch. I guess there used to be stickers and this is just the remnants of the adhesive. Van is a 1990 Westy, stock, Canadian. Always been in Canada as far as I know.

The numbers are 29208089

Was this van a rental at some point? Part of a BC Hydro fleet? An undercover RCMP surveillance vehicle?
